Aerial Alfonzo Rawlins Obituary
Aerial A. Rawlins, long time mid-Columbia resident, passed away July 23rd 1997 at his residence in Kennewick, WA. He was born in Lewiston, UT November 27, 1902 to Jasper A. and Cora Burbank Rawlins, the oldest of eight children. As a young man he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Indiana. He married Dorothy Last on the 15th of December 1926 in the Logan, UT LDS Temple. He and Dorothy lived and raised their family in northern UT until moving to a farm in White Bluffs, WA in 1939. When this community was evacuated, along with Hanford and other small communities in 1943 to make way for the Atomic Energy project, they moved to Walla Walla, WA, where they lived for about forty years. He is proceeded in death by his wife and one grandchild. He leaves behind one sister, Mae Rawlins Jorgenson of Huntsville, UT; four children, Bruce and his wife Bonnie of Medford, Oregon; Stephen and his wife Carol of Richland, Washington, Claude and his wife Vergie of Richland, WA, Helen and her husband, James Knopf of Redmond, WA. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Viewing will be at the Mueller Funeral Home at 10th St. and Union Avenue in Kennewick, WA from 3 PM to 8 PM on July 30, 1997. Funeral services will be conducted at the LDS chapel on Pittsburgh Street in Kennewick, WA at 10 AM, July 31, 1997. Interment will be at the cemetery at 10th St. and Union in Kennewick, WA.
